As we look back on the 6th of May, 2023, we are filled with gratitude and warmth for the memorable Eid Celebration that took place at the Mauritius Islamic Mission’s Day Care Centre. It was a day filled with faith, unity, and the spirit of giving.
Mehendi Application – The Day Before
The festivities began with Mehendi application on the day before Eid. Our talented artists adorned the hands of attendees with intricate henna designs, a cherished tradition that adds beauty and elegance to our celebrations.
Quran/Dua Recitation
On the auspicious day of Eid, we gathered to recite the Quran and offer heartfelt Duas (prayers) for our community, loved ones, and the world at large. It was a moment of spiritual connection and reflection, reminding us of the significance of this holy occasion.
Quiz for Students and Parents
Knowledge is a treasure, and at our Eid Celebration, we organized an engaging quiz for both students and parents. It was a fun and educational way to test our knowledge of Islamic history, culture, and traditions. Congratulations to the participants for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn!
Distribution of Bags and Other Gifts
Generosity is a cornerstone of Eid celebrations, and this year was no exception. We distributed bags filled with essential items and gifts to our community members, ensuring that everyone felt the warmth of our caring and compassionate community.
Enjoying Snacks
After a morning of prayers, quizzes, and gift-giving, it was time to indulge in delicious snacks. Laughter and conversation filled the air as everyone shared in the joy of the day.
Shield for Non-Absentees in 2022
We also took a moment to honor those who remained dedicated to our Day Care Centre throughout the year. Shields were awarded to the non-absentees of 2022, acknowledging their commitment and support.
Lunch – Chicken Biryani
The day culminated in a delightful lunch featuring mouthwatering Chicken Biryani, a flavorful dish loved by many. The aroma of spices and the taste of home-cooked goodness brought our community closer together as we shared this special meal.
